Huntinhick and I just got new 5 lbs. anchors and Hick and I are wondering what break strength of rope we need and what brand?
Someone going bungee jumping to me is cool BUT someone landing a monster of a fish off of a kayak is AMAZING

I just use cheap 1/4 inch braided yellow polypro, I think it is roughly 75 pound test.  Floats and doesn't absorb water, and is thin enough that you don't need a 5 gallon bucket to hold 100 feet of the stuff.

I use 1/4" braided nylon....'cuz I have a spool full of it ::)

I too use whatever 1/4" rope I have lying around.  I do have a big spool of 1/4" 3 strand twisted polypro.  But if I were to buy new rope, it would be something with less memory that is easier to coil.

I just spooled 300' of 3/16" nylon. It is easy to handle and currently on sale at 30% off at West Marine. In fact, all of their bulk line is 30% off

I got 300 feet of 3/16ths white nylon braided on my spool. There is a note on the door of Englund saying line is gonna skyrocket in price, not sure if it's all line or just the bigger stuff the commercial guys use. I'll have to read it more carefully next time.
