Hobie is having to answer the competition's offerings with the comfy chair in the 2015 Outback. Hobie's product people missed the  boat though with staying with the small round hatch on the Outback. You should not have to go to a PA boat to get a rectangular hatch and a storage space for Plano tackle boxes.

Even a 9" x 6" rectangular hatch would make for a great deal more usable space where it is most needed. It would be large enough for three of the Plano 3700 4-16 cases.

With most of the Hobie pro staff using PA's the needs for the fishermen using the small boats (Revo, Outback, etc.) for tackle storage has been completely ignored.

I think that they're saving the square hatch for next year's upgrade.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Honestly it is a pretty easy upgrade for if you have a jigsaw. I planned on doing a video how-to on my 2014. I'll wind up doing on a 2015 when I can get my hands on one.

I am able to get as many Planos in through my round hatch as I need. Which Hobie do you have that they won't fit inside? I have been able to get them in the Revo, Addy, and Outback.  I have never tried a Sport. That being said, A square hatch would be nice.
