Since, according to the city, most boats don't pay the fee, screw them. ;)

I like Craig's way of thinking and he's right most of them don't pay just watch the ramp for about 30 min in the morning I did and less then half of the ones I seen launch paid.

My favorite part about launching the kayak is walking past a long line of trailers. I've never had a negative encounter such as yours, but I'm pretty sure my resp once would start and end with .... GO F*%# YOURSELF

Would be funny if we got into a habit of putting our launch fees in a small envelope labeled: "Kayak launch fee" and slip it into the box each time.  Then over time the city might get the feeling that us honest folks should have some parking spots designated just for kayak use, and or a kayak only launch area somewhere off to the west side of the dock.  This would chap some PB'r hide for sure!   >:D

I got a big box of envelopes I can keep in the car.

I like that idea Insayn! I haven't been in Dampainters position, but I like the idea of showing the city that kayakers are being responsible and paying our fees.

Yep. You can't argue with stupid.

It's funny... when I was a powerboater kayaks never bothered me. It was always other powerboaters. I guess nothing's changed.

We launched at the packed ramp at point defience marina for the salmon derby. The line was all the way up the hill. I parked my car pulled my kayak over. Walked up to the man running the launch to ask where I could drop in and pay my fee. They didn't charge me and I got a whole ramp to myself since they were using the first lane to stage people and not launch. I probably cut 20 boats. It felt so good
