I walked in the other week with my salmon rod (cheap X11) and they replaced it on the spot.  They even offered to let me get a different line weight and shorter rod.  They thought I was crazy to use a 9 1/2 foot rod on a kayak.  I went with the same model and love the results. It is my new favorite salmon rod. 8)  Coincidentally, I had to replace the tip on the replacement rod.  The ceramic insert came out fishing on the ocean.  I heated it up and slapped a new one on before hitting B-10.

Oh, and i know my fish pictures were rather self serving and pointless.  But, I haven't had time to write a report in so long, I had to brag somewhere. ;D

AND you do get to brag about this one!  A day like that comes along very, very seldom.

Over the past 40 years I've broken 5 Lami rods. I've carried them all in and had on the spot replacement w/o any charges. Including a 32 year old rod. That old rod was obviously long discontinued and the girl at the desk said that she'd never seen a ferrule system like that before. They gave me a new rod of the same length, line wt, and lure wt. They have treated me very well. I was there one time when a guy came in with 2 broken rods, he threw them on the counter, and started yapping with a very bad attitude. The folks there were polite and one of them went in the shop to "check if they had replacement rods available ".  The guy came back out and said that they didn't and it would be 3+ weeks to repair his. The guy yelled and hollered then left. His rods were the same as mine that they replaced on the spot. Moral of the story is be nice and good things happen.

Not to hijack the thread, I have also had wonderful customer service there. If they had the replacement, it was given freely. If they didn't, they charged me a nominal fee to upgrade..

They did actually offer to upgrade me, as well (for a fee). I had mentioned maybe getting a different rod, but in the end, I wanted to stick with this one.

And that is what we call an "Ahh-Ha" moment, right there.   ;)

One stick of tip glue will last you through MANY MANY tip repairs, so keep it in a drawer that you will remember where you put it.
It's such an inexpensive and easy thing to do, you think it would be illegal or something?   :police:

That's actually a WTFWIT moment , Insayn you must not know me well because even in a drawer I can and will lose it so I for see at least 3-4 purchases of said stick

Back around the later 2000s I walked into Lamiglas with a TI2000 which had a major failure at the connection point.   They stated it could not be repaired and they would typically replace it, but couldn't.  The titanium series had been discontinued for several years.  They stated they would be willing to replace it with a prototype rod that was soon to hit the market.  I had this "I am going to get screwed here" look on my face as I thought they wanted to send me out the door with a much cheaper rod.   They went back to speak to someone in an office then came back out and asked if I could come back in a week.  They promised they would have an exact replacement for me.  As promised they had one brand spanking new,  complete with it's included case waiting for me on my return.   They told me they contacted a small sporting goods store that had 2 in their stock for years, unable to sell them.   Lamiglas actually purchased one back from them so to keep me happy.  That was the good part of the story.   ;D

It might have been a year later that I was at Sport Co. and picked up one of their new SI series rods and could not get over how light it was.  I so wanted one but could not justify the purchase due to it's price.  Then it clicked that SI was in the model name Lamiglas had originally offered me as a replacement.   All I could think about was how cool it would have been to show that rod off to friends who are also fishing gear junkies.    >:(

Needless to say I am a huge Lamiglas fan due to how they bent over backwards so this customer would be happy ....  Can't say I am much of a fan of my decision making sometimes.

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't
