Last week sucked too much to not go back and reap the rewards associated with the "Law of Averages".  Hopefully I still have statistics in my favor for the drive down though.  That will likely suck.

So...

Not great for either.  I think I will plan on being on the water by 11AM meaning I can fish 5 hours to 4pm which is sunset.  My guess is the best time will be 3pm to 4pm.

Not going to bother with bait though I may play with some lighter gear and some different camera stuff.  If I get enough nerves.  I may even try fishing in the dark an hour or two with glow stuff and/or my underwater lights.  I think that's one of those things now that sounds good but will have less appeal after 5 hours on the water.

Final call will be made at 4am tomorrow with the updated weather forecast.

Lol. Yah my good friends say "wow you fish a lot."  My really good friends say "you are F'N nuts!!!!!' So that puts you in the latter category.

There's something about this fishery. Tons of bait. No one fishing it. I can't help but feel like I'm going to stumble on to something new. Something big!  Haha. We can dream right?!?!?

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Haha. While true. I make exceptions for these kings. Amazing sashimi grade delicacy. In the spring I can only catch them North of bluff pt so limit is one and by then I can only keep 5 till October!

At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it dang nummit!!!!!!!

Well, most likely the last saltwater King if the year! Not huge but not a shaker either. Maybe 4 to 5 pounds. It'll eat!!!!

Well I think I heard the fat lady singing in the midst of trying to fish in 3 to 4 ft standing waves at the end of the spit.  The final ride of the year was a rodeo for much of the day.  Added to the excitement factor.  More than once I was sideways to a wave, leaned to brace to the extent you can in a Hobie holding the handles, and I am pretty sure my head was in the wall of water next to me.  lol.

Sonar reading was minimal.  Could not really find the activity but its always hit and miss when the tide is rising.  Caught my one dinker fish around high tide and was definitely seeing some more activity as the tide changed. Of course after trolling for hours, I caught it while just drifting around rummaging through my bag for a gear change.  I see my rod tip bounce then slack.  By the time I had gotten to my rod, the fish had just about jumped into the kayak with about 50ft of line still out.  Well, no video.  Argh.

Encountered a Blizzard in Ninilchik on the way down but the roads were fine for the most part.

Still, what a KILLER 2014 season. Fo me 2014, was the year of the halibut. But I did manage a few kings along the way.  Amazingly I don't think I caught a coho or even tried for them from a kayak this year.  Well that's new for me.  I have always been focused in on salmon, especially Kings.  It's probably for the best.  My family's palate make up has changed and I think halibut is now the preferred fish over salmon.

So now its time to start working on my highlight reels and spend some time with the family.

Thanks to everyone ere at NWKA!  Everyone here has been just super instrumental in getting me out fishing safety and productively!!!  All of YA ROCK!!!!!

It was good seeing you out and about fishing. It was a good year fishing. Sad for the people that pasted while out on the water in a kayak. Stay safe and good luck ice fishing. Hope to head to flathorn on friday, depends on the weather.

Yeah right ... I see this breaking down if there is a good weather window and even a sniff of a decent bite!
