When I'm up in AK, I'll be renting a P13 Angler.  It has the flushmount rodholders behind the  seat, but I want something in front of me.  I also have a FF that I need to make portable some way.  I'll be using a suction cup transducer, but I need a secure base for the FF head unit.  Here's what I came up with.  I cut a piece of cutting board to the same size as the yellow containers that fit in the center console area of the P15's/P13's.  To this I attached the FF base.  Behind the FF base I put a Scotty rodholder on an extension.  This whole thing will sit on a piece of carpet on top of the yellow box ... all held down by the built in bungie strap on the P13.  I put a pad eye in front of the FF.  If I find this to be a bit wobbly I can at least leash it in, or as another leash attach point in the middle.

Nice! Where does the battery go? Good idea about leashing it. I'd hate to see a big fish hook up while the rod is in the holder and deep six the whole thing.

Battery will go in a dry bag in the hold.  I'll just run the wire up under the lip of the front hatch ... which is what I do anyway on my rigs here at home.

I thought about putting the "new school" AA battery kit in the yellow box, but I'm bringing a big 7 aH battery and praying it lasts 5 days ... or at least long enough for me to mark some good spots on the GPS so I can go hit them up later in the week.
