Hello,
I was raised on Netarts Bay, lived in a home with a living room view of the Bay, Spit, Ocean, Bar, & Three Arched Rocks.  Saw many people hoisted to the Coast Guard Chopper from one of the most dangerous Bars on the West Coast.  Inspired to join the NAVY directly after High School, I repaired submarines in Scotland.  Chose not to reenlist, so I went to college where I became the Fleet Captain of the OIT Sailing Club.  Moved to CA to work in Aerospace for 7 yrs, where I also skippered 30 ft sailboats on the ocean.

Moved back to Oregon 1992 and took up fishing for Trout, Salmon, Bottom fish, Halibut & Tuna.  Owned and operated a 19 ft alum boat for 14 years, but sold it a year ago.

Last August we attended a family camp-out at Crane Prairie for the first time.  Others brought some Kayaks which were a hit, so after returning home, I started looking for used fishing kayaks on-line and soon came across the Hobie Pro Angler models and fell-in-love with the idea of pedaling the kayak vs paddling – Hands-free to hold a rod, phone, or camera.

After studying and watching YouTube on what others have done with their Kayaks, I decided on a new Hobie Pro Angler 14.  Attended the Sportsman Show and found them at the Kayak Shed booth and also at Next Adventure.  When my wife saw them, she asked, “Can we get a quantity discount?”   :love8:

We placed a deposit for new Pro Angler 12 & 14, which we plan to pick-up before the end of March.  :hello2:

Welcome. Sounds like you should be well qualified to captain a kayak.

Welcome! Netarts is a beautiful place - on of my favorite places on the coast. I'm jealous that you got to live there. Looking forward to some pictures of your ProAnglers in action!
