Thanks!  Geez, I need to keep up with the regs.  Page 93 of the regs requires single point barbless in the open ocean. So trebles aren't even an option there.
Get out there while you can!
There is talk about changing the regs next year to only retention of fish with two clipped fins and hook requirements to 1/0 or smaller only, one barbless hook only and it can't be sharpened!
They are making the rules absurd!

I heard no flashers or dodgers either.

Holly hell! This is getting out of control.
I knew they were talking about the whole flasher part of the rule but last I heard they were unsure it would be just flashers or flashers and dodgers.

I'm going to need a lawyer in the back of my kayak so I know what I can and can't fish with.

Hopefully the anti braid clause gets kicked....

... and it can't be sharpened!

All hooks are sharpened at some point. How will they enforce that one? Maybe there'll be a market for my new invention...the hook duller!

I think they are going to use the same cotton glove test they use for testing to see if the barbs are pinched down. If the hook easily pokes you though the cotton glove it will be deemed 'excessively sharp' and you will be fined and risk having your licence revoked.

Flashers and dodgers too??  Next they are going to make you net the salmon with those waffle or paper scoops like they goldfish at Japanese festivals. Crazy....
