So if I catch a greenling for bait, what is the best way to rig it up?

Here's one way:

Interesting that this topic should come up at this time because I was just thinking the same thing a couple days ago and wondering if it would be legal!  :D.  I have had Lingers clamp on to a rock fish and just not let go several times. Unfortunately it was in Alaska & out of season. It was REALLY hard to not keep a large Linger that refused to let go!! So I thought why not try it.
Thank you for this link, I will have to fish the jetty a few more times to before ORC to try it out!  ;)
Donating to Poseidon isn't so bad, maybe he will grant you new armor & weapons!

I've for a couple Shimano butterfly jigs I may try. I haven't had much luck with them at Depoe, but who knows. Maybe they'll land a monster for ORC.

This may be one of the weirder questions I have asked but, I only have a small 25-30 can cooler and a little 6 can cooler for on the kayak. The question is will I have enough room to take some fish home. Most fish I plan on contributing to the tacos, depending on if there is fish to contribute. Also should I bring down some gallon bags and such.

fillet fish and throw meat in a bag at the campground. (does ramp area have cleaning station anyone?), burlap sack or other to bring fish back to ramp or just leave on a stringer while ur out fishing.

There is a cleaning station at the ramp at Depoe Bay harbor and Chinook Bend has a decent cleaning table with multiple hoses at their dock just behind the restroom. And you don't need quarters for the cleaning tables.

Shoeman-------bring your cooler. Any fish it won't carry you can always donate.

I went out of Depoe bay 1 day each in the past two weeks. Had stellar days of catching both times. The blue Lancer Jig that we found in our bags at ORC was by far the jig of choice. I caught a 28 inch cabbie, 29 inch lingcod and several blackies on it before it's demise. I think that it was a two ounce but am not sure. Does anyone know what weight it was? I am going to make an order from the company for many more.

Definitely the 2oz jigs. My favorite are the white but the black and silver work great. I caught my AOTD ling on the 6oz copper. Lancer jigs are the only artificials I will use.

I've been pouring these baits since November (end of season in CA) and guys have been doing very well with lots of PB fish. I used a couple regular test slugs at ORC('14) and caught 12 cabbies, 2 at 12.5lbs and one big mother straightened the hook on me.

I'm REALLY looking forward to getting back this year with a tourney (scent chamber and 3 ball bearing glass rattle poured right into the bait) slug in Pollo Loco and Chart Magic colors. I also have a bunch of those lead heads that I brought up a couple years back available now for those who were interested. I said I would post em up once I got them for sale. Sorry it took me so long to get these done.
