Lowrance Elite-4 HDI deal

Lee, I'm guessing what you saw was the Elite 4X, and not the Elite 4.
"x" means no gps

I swear it said GPS.   I need a FF so if it has the GPS it's a solid unit right? I'll go back in the morning and grab one of them and post a pic or something. There were 2.

I upgraded to the Elite 5 HDI for the bigger screen, especially when running the split screen.  It also has a better transducer. 

I was running a 5ah battery and it only lasted about 4 hours.  However, I realized later that I was running it on max brightness at 10.  knocking that down a bit would give me more life.

I bought a 12ah battery, as I don't want to run out of juice if I'm off shore.  The 12ah is a monster, but bought a waterproof box at Fishermans and wired it up with waterproof connections.  It will fit perfectly in the rear hatch of my Outback.

My bad, looked again and it wasn't elite, just mark-4. The weird thing was it advertises having a gps antenna, not a gps. WTF would you want an antenna without a gps?

I just picked up the one for sale at Fisherman's Marine.  Awesome deal.  I couldn't pass it up (even though I don't have a boat yet  )

Just mount it to your bath tub in the mean time to get the hang of the screens.  It might freak the wife out with it in there, but that's half the fun!

Just saw this for $199 at Gander Mountain. Seems like a decent deal.

I bought one of those and installed it a couple days ago.

Wow.  I paid that much for mine without the mapping software and cover.
