I'm a newbie kayaker. I'm a newbie in knowledge of a forum and are not that computer literate. Please have patience with me.  I live on Netarts Bay west of Tillamook. I am probably older than most of the members (74). Been fishing all my life. Always owned good size sleds. Not yet used to my wobbely 10 ft sit in kayak. Look forward to being involved with NWKA.

Welcome!!!! I recently did a seminar on kayak fishing and I fully expected the young guns to show but the people most interested were quite a bit older than me (48).   It was great to see. Outside of loading and unloading, which have equipment to make easier, I plan to do this for a lot longer. So much easier than dealing with a powerboat in my opinion.

Welcome goldtrommel!

You'll be happy to know that the first person I ever saw kayak fishing was well into his 70's when I first saw him slaying lingcod at what's become one of my favorite spots.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
