Is there an index of local contests published anywhere on this site?  I don't know that I'm ready to compete, but I'd love to check one out sometime.

The Kayak Shed is putting up details on their website today. Look at the search bar search under Bonneville Bass and you should be able to register.

Since we had so much fun at the May Day tourney in Tillamook, Don (dannybay) and I are going to do this one as well!

Can you post a link to the entry page?  I can't find anything on that site.

You'd think it would be listed under "Events", but that doesn't seem to be the case.   Here's the link..

What area is this tourney held in? I'm still pretty new to OR and would like to get up to the area and do a few practice runs before the actual tournament. And this will be the first tournament i've entered fishing from the kayak. Thanks for any help.

It's on the Columbia river around Hood River.  There are a couple of state campgrounds nearby if you want to overnight that weekend, and Mayer State Park (day use) has good access and fishing.  Viento Park has both as well and is a campground.

Paid and ready to go. Thinking of heading up a few times before to "test the waters". I'll probably do the same thing Jason, head up on Thursday and get one more practice round in on Friday. It'll be great to meet some of the ppl on the forum. I'm looking forward to this as it'll be my first tournament.

We headed up to Hood River this past Sunday (Happy Mothers day to me!!!).  We (dannybay) and I put in at the boat launch and encountered the sheriff on docks.  He told us the river was really bumpy and asked if we were really going out.  We told him we were just testing the waters and would just hang by the bridge for a while and stay close to shore.  He said one small motorized boat had to be pulled in due to the conditions.  It was really windy- (from 3-5pm) and the kitesurfing was in fully force.  We didn't stay out long but it was good and Don (dannybay) caught one small mouth bass on a rapala minnow while we were in the marina area.  Can't wait for the tournament!

Last year people were able to avoid the worst of the wind by fishing inside Mayer St. Park and farther towards The Dalles. If the rules are like last year then you can fish anywhere that you can legally fish in Bonneville Pool as long as you make it to "weigh-in" (picture check) on time.
