Who's heading out this week for halibut fishing at neah bay? I am all ready to go. Now it's the waiting game.

6+ foot swells expected.  If you haven't spent much time in the ocean prior to this,  you're asking to be a statistic.

THU
NW WIND 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS. W SWELL 7 FT AT
11 SECONDS.

SAT
NW WIND 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. W SWELL 6 FT.

That's tough stuff even for the power boats. The forecast has been getting worse and worse as the week's progressed. I was supposed to head out to neah for offshore fishing on a large powerboat this thursday, and he just cancelled bc of deteriorating conditions. Saturday's on the bubble for us at this point.

As Lee said, don't go unless you have significant ocean kayaking experience. And cojones.

Weather.gov is a great tool for the weather forcast. The graphics weather map works better than magic seaweed in my option.
It has really helped me on deciding go or no go days. It also really helps me with the many micro climates of washington. Many times I have had major differences in marine conditions from near by locations. Don't underestimate the olympic mountains and the coastal range and it's effects on the local weather.

Looks like pretty shitty conditions. I'm thinking about pulling the plug myself. Good luck to anyone going out it is going to be nasty sloppy conditions with a BIG surf launch.

I have in my 15 ft boat. I went out to tatoosh earlier today.  But I'm not sure yesterday is a good prediction tool for Thursday.
