So one of the folks I fished with this weekend who I have been corresponding with for a while but met for the first time was fishing out of what he called a Hybrid SUP/kayak.

I was actually impressed with how well it worked for him.  Low profile but handled 2 to 3 ft chop fine.

Video is a tad long because I shot it for him.  Handled a king no problem.

Anyone else try this?  What are the general pros and cons if you have tried or know someone whohas one.

ARGHHH...I do NOT need another platform......

used a Diablo Paddlesports Adios once on a large lake in Alabama...was a lot thinner than a normal yak, and wetter, slower than a Trident for speed comparison, but for the most part worked really well... don't think I would take it out on Alaskan waters though... Your friend has a lot of hutzpah doing that.

That aside,
BoogieD and polepole took a hybrid to Christmas Island a few years ago when they opened up that place to kayak fishing... I think for use in that huge ass lagoon for bonefish and papio, but you'd have to ask them..
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.
