I broke one of the zigs off the zig-zag cleat for my anchor trolley.  This is the second cleat I've busted.  Next time I break a cleat (and my experience suggests that I'm going to break another one), I'm going to replace it with a metal zig-zag cleat.  But I couldn't find a metal cleat available locally, so I've bolted on another plastic cleat.

You may be using too small of diameter line for those cleats with whatever anchor forces that are being applied. Clearly you need to rework how or what you are anchoring with.

Seems like you may also want to switch to a wedge type cleat.  This way however you are anchoring now is pulling that strong, the wedge cleat only holds that much better.

I broke both cleats (one on my Revolution, and one on my Trident) by banging them on something while transporting the kayaks, even though I tried to mount them in positions where they weren't likely to get hit by anything.  Anchoring, regardless of the diameter of the anchor line, doesn't seem to put much stress on a zig-zag cleat.  An advantage of a zig-zag cleat is that I can use the same cleat to lock off my anchor trolley and my anchor line, by starting from different ends of the cleat and zigging and zagging in the opposite direction.

This would have been good information on the first post :D

I have mine hidden in my tool tray on the Outback so I don't have this problem.  What do other Revo users have for a CLEAT?

+1.

Pete your original cry for help was kind of open ended don't you think?

So my new answer to your problem is that you are not paying close enough attentiion to how you load or unload your gear.

In short just keep a fat chunk of rope or bungee weaved through it when not actually using it.

If you have a gear track you could mount it to that with some mighty bolts. If that is possible it would be easily removrable for transportation or when you don't use it.
