i have two hobies that are upside down on the trailer when traveling also the hobie wheels are locked in to the kayaks when going down the road too. i recently got one of those soft shell cartopper storage bags. instead of putting the thing on the roof was thinking of putting it on top of the kayaks and lashing it down to them.  should have no more than 100 lbs of weight in it which will be distributed over both hulls. and which mostly will be soft type stuff.

anybody do this or have opinion?

In warm weather you are most likely going to deform the hull. It will probably come back once the weight and tension are released assuming it's still warm out. Load gear into your hulls, they fit a lot of gear.

Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.  Just my opinion though.
