I just want to say hello to everyone. I've been looking around this site a lot lately and like what I've seen read and learned so far Thankyou all for sharing.

Thanks Rudy the only reason I'm not in Ak full time is I have one of those silly jobs. I plan on moving there when I retire or find a better job up on the slope. Have you seen any thresher kayaks up there yet?

I haven't. For whatever reason I see a lot of wilderness system paddle kayaks. A few ocean kayaks.  AKrod has a propel. The rest are Hobies.

Paddle kayaks will work fine.  I used to catch kings and halibut on my mini-x until I discovered this forum and was quickly told I was nuts.  Ok. Maybe not that harsh and they were right. My outback is MUCH better!  But it wasn't the pedal vs paddle. It was the 9ft length.  I didn't know it until I went out with other people.  I might as well have been using a cardboard box. But I caught fish!!
