It was cool to be the only 5 people on a 63 mile long island. So peaceful.  Other than the occasional power tools that pissed this little guy off.

Niiiiice!  It's the adversity that makes it memorable.

-Mark-

That is what Steve and I were saying afterwards.  We both saw it, it was big (at least to me it was), and we had fun trying.  There were many laughs to be had while trying and then afterwards.  Especially when it tried bitch slapping Steve and then taking him for a swim. Besides, according to the IGFA, it was landed and released.  I had the leader in my hand.  ;D  Too bad I am still hungry for halibut.  :P

Great story Craig.  Maybe you can get a cheap Korean animation studio to make CGI reenactment of the battle.

WOW!  Crazy cool!  SE Alaska is a bucket trip destination even for me living in Alaska.  It HURT to put my daughter on a flight to Sitka for Music Camp this morning.  Music Camp?  Sitka for Music Camp?  I should have chaperoned her...with my kayak!

Great write up Craig!!!!!  Thanks for sharing!!!

I will re-enact the whole thing for you and I am really cheap. A couple of beers and I will be on a roll. Actually, I suck at being the camera man (which isn't news to anyone). It was a very, very large fish.
