I've been wanting to try Ship Creek in my kayak and I finally got the chance today. The launch is usable 2 hours before and after high tide which was my biggest worry. I launched at 10 am and fished till 2pm.  Not much happened on the incoming or slack tide but it picked up a lot on the outgoing. I hooked into 2 fish, one jack and a 15 pounder.  I saw around 10 fish landed from shore, all on roe under a bobber. All in all it was a good experience,  good water and was able to try something new.  My only complaint would be the dam Ship Creek MUD!!! Took me an hour to scrub my kayak afterwards.

That's insane!!!! That's about the craziest kayak deal I've heard of. lol. Need my June king. Hmmm....

Thanks for the report.

Oh, you are supposed to clean your kayak? lol. I never do. Haha.

What was your interaction with tbe bankies like?  It's a small creek and a combat fishery, did anyone use you for a target or cast across your gear?

It's always fun trying new water in an unorthodox way.  I agree about the mud, tenacious it is.

I was worried about the bank fisherman but I was able to stay out of their way and they didn't bother me.  I actually had guys calling me over to ask questions about kayaking haha.

Where did you launch from?

There has been someone in a blue camo yak. He hit one that looked like 20+ Friday night. I did not see him with anything tonight. He was throwing spinners.
