Well after batting 0 for 49,000 on the Lake Washington fishery I'm going out to the salt to try again.  I am wondering if anyone had some kayak specific advice of where to fish.  Right now I am deciding between fishing the mouth of the snohomish or off of golden gardens.  I live very close to golden gardens so that is the path of least resistance.  I have been told to fish off meadow point.  I am not sure what the best areas around Everett are.  Since I don't have alot of experience in the sound I would like to fish in a fairly protected area.  So if anyone has some advice on where to fish, where to launch and if there are areas I should avoid I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Aaron

So I decided on Shilshole this morning and  the good news is  I caught 9 fish! the only problem was each was probably no bigger than a 1lb.  About half looked like rainbows and the others were more silver. I am assuming they were trout but I don't know.   I trolling using a green dodger or flasher, I never get the 2 straight with a green coyote spoon.  Lost of action but only little guys.  Lots of boats out and shore fisherman but I didn't see anyone catching anything.  None the less it was a beautiful day, just about perfect out there, who knows maybe I will even try going out again this evening.

So to continue the talk to myself thread  :P  I went out again this AM caught some more of the baby coho's & King's I'm  told.  I did hook into something worth while only to have my brand new reel crap out.  The drag was busted and the fish snapped off my lure.  Oh well at least I wasn't bored and it the sunrise sure was nice!

You may be talking to yourself ... but we're all listening.   ;D

Sounds like your getting closer.  Did you head back to Shilshole?

BTW, what kind of reel was it?

Yeah I was at Shilshole,  It was a Abu Garcia 6501.  Im still not sure what happened, when I got the fish I think I had my drag set to low, This is my first baitcaster. I tried to tighting it but I think I loosened it and then it just got stuck and wouldn't turn.   I took it back to GI joes and they noticed one of the tines was really bent on the drag setting.  I have no idea how that happend nothing hard enough in my kayak to bend anything, it was pretty hard material you couldn't bend it back with your hand.  The reel was working fine on the baby salmon I was catching it was only when I hooked the big boy that it got stuck.
Overall I'm just exicited to finally get my kayak out there a few times.  I'm working on the rigging having a tandem SIT provides many challenges to setup.

Yep me again, yep more fishing at Shilshole, yep more 12 - 14" blackmouth.  ;D
It is beautiful out there the never ending summer. Hopefully I can hit it again tomorrow.  I also got my sit on top out on green lake yesterday for a trial run.
