Okay, two questions. I see the banner advertisement below, several times while scouring the NWKA forum. Has anyone here bought one and tried it out yet? I would be mostly interested in it for tying flies on, size 10 - 22's and occasionally smaller. Mainly due to old tiring eyes.

And the second question, which is kind of multiple questions rolled into one: How do banner advertisements work on the NWKA forum? Does the forum receive money when a banner ad is clicked on? What about when an ad is clicked on, and then a purchase is made from the link?
 ??? Just curious

There is a huge assortment of gadgets to help us old sighted bstds, I prefer this one, http://store.hookhack.com/Rod-Mounted-Fly-Threader-really-it-works-/productinfo/RMFT101/    Hope it shows up.
I have about 10 pairs of magnifiers that are supposed to be in all of my tackle boxes, fishing vests, etc; for some reason they're always sitting at home when I need them  ???.
Besides, I always thought 15Rs only changed entire components, when you need a new fly, don't you just reach into your warehouse and grab a whole new rod/reel setup?

Most sites negotiate a payment from an advertising clearing house such as Google, based on # of unique views.  As well, there is often a click thru payment of a couple of pennies.  Not sure if NWKA gets specific credit for purchases from a click through.  More likely it just ups the value of the advertising space over time.

Thanks for the link, John. That's an interesting alternative and I like that it clips onto the rod. Plus, I've dealt with Hook & Hackle in the past for tying supplies and as I recall, received good service. As for "cheaters" or magnifiers, I have two brand new pairs that looked like a great concept when I bought them. Unfortunately, neither pair has ever been opened or made it to the water, and are in fact sitting in one of several crates of new and used fishing stuff.

As a 15R, yes. That was definitely protocol. Now than I'm just another broke dick, returned soldier from Afghanistan, they frown on me sending used/broken fishing equipment to Corpus Christi Army Depoe, expecting new goodies in return.  ;D

Thanks Mark. That actually makes much more sense (or would that be cents?) than how I thought it might work.
