Monster Mola Offshore Kayak Fishing (video)

I've run into a lot of these so far this year, but this big one is hands down the largest I've seen off Washington's coast. And it let me pet it.

When I see those it always makes me wonder how a docile piece of meat that large fends off predators? You would think sharks would just smash the shit out of those things.

I got cut by one once riding it like an idiot cowboy, that took about a month to heal. No wonder every creature in the sea leaves them alone.

I ran into that one about 6 miles off Cape Flattery, coming back in from Swiftsure

I've seen those off Westport and was told that on a diet of jellies, their meat isn't appealing to anglers or discerning ocean predators.
