kid gear

We're thinking of taking our little 9 yr old out of WG and/or Seward if the water's calm over the next few weekends. She was out last weekend from Cannes Head.... but I'd like to get her into some safe clothes/gear. She's growing... anything in town to borrow? We've bought her a yak of her own for next year and will dress her accordingly. But for the next few weeks...??

I have two extra PFDs - sm/med and med/lg    No spare dry suit in small size though.   

I have extra pfd's as well. 

I do have a youth large drysuit that is too big for my ten year old except his head that he uses.  I have a adult men's medium that I am hoping will at least work for my daughter.  I have plans to take them out the next two weekends at least one day but if something falls through I will let you know.  Obviously I thought it was important enough to get my kid a drysuit, but with mutliple adults and close supervision, I think PFD,  waders and a rain jacket will work.  But you have to have 100% supervision...not 99%...

I'll keep it in mind as I plan the weekend.  Haven't been out in two weekends....not good!

Yeah...thought it was a long shot. I bought I used Revo from Seward for next year. Gotta get her a drysuit...and then, I doubt WG is in the mix except for very, very calm days. Way too much going on there. Seward isn't as bad, but definitely, Rudy--I agree 100% focus on staying in a group and monitoring the conditions.

I also don't want to leave her behind when we do our trips, or keep her off the water until she's a teen. Our boy didn't fish with us much as a kid, and he really doesn't enjoy it at all now. So going easy, taking it slow, teaching her the right way to behave and how to watch and consider the conditions now is all important. Along with the right gear.
