My name is Carl, I live in the big town of Paterson Washington. I have a pontoon boat that is setup for bowfishing and have done very little fishing from it, But a couple months ago my wife and i got a Hobie Tandem Island for sailing around the river and one time we took it out bass fishing and had a blast, now i am currently setting it up for fishing. we have a vacation planned for our anniversary in October 9th - 13th, we are staying in the Warrenton area, we are hoping to bring the kayak along, weather permitting and do some fishing for anything that bites in that area. it would be great if we could either get some advice or even join up with someone while we are there. I do not feel very comfortable at this point not really knowing the area or the currents with tide change......

Umm, you didn't say anything wrong, it's just a matter of who logs into the forum and sees an intro...  'Tis the nature of the beast for Internet forums...

Welcome.

Now that's what i like to hear!!! I don't expect you to give away any hot spots but what are the best areas to launch from?

 Welcome Carl,
Search though some of the threads in the Colombia River section for hints about where to launch while you are down in Warrenton. Lots of very specific information there. You just have to look for it. Don't just lurk.....

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

For you, launch in Umatilla or just launch at Crow. For whatever you want to fish, do a little research and try to put your bait where you think they will be.
