So my buddy checked in Saturday for the fall run and brought his alumaweld intruder, he asked me to fish with him Sunday, I can't tell him no so we launched at 6:45 trolled plug cut herring with 14 and 18 oz leads in the jaws of Tillamook bay. Nailed 3 chinooks and lost ...errr... Early released 2 others. Couple guys at the fish cleaning station were in the bubble and nailed a few beasts pushing a guess of 35lbs our biggest was 30lbs. Going to give it a go again tomorrow. Hopefully I can carry the luck over to the yak.

Ha! cheating? "Revenge is a dish best served cold".  After releasing your native coho yesterday, you gotta get it one way or another.

Cool, I hooked and lost one between the jaws last week. Are you using bait?

You can't say how much better or more fun Kayak fishing is if you don't experience the "other" side.  I hate the elitist types of any group that thinks the only way is their way.  Did ya have fun?  If yes, go do it again...if you time and priorities allow.

Plug cut herring 5 ft behind a flasher behind 3 ft shock leader with 14-16 oz lead at the jaws and 8 in the ghost hole.... Dropped it down on troll cranked it up 5 turns on inbound tide in the jaws 2 turns on the outbound tide and in the ghost hole.  "Turns as in full revolution of the crank handle". Had to turn loose one jack 20 inches from the bubble and had a few solid hits but no hookups. We seen more fish taken yesterday in one hour then we seen taken all day. We tried all three popular spots, the jaws, the bobble, and the ghost hole where we seen two yaks a blue Hobie and a tan tandem Hobie, blue boat said he wasn't NWKA not sure if they we're together.

I saw those two guys out yesterday too.  I was at the head waters of the bay in a PB.  We got 2 salmon.  One coho and one nice chinook at about 30lbs.  We had a great time!  I want to try it again in the kayak though.
