went out to pine hollow today and had a pretty dang good day. landed my biggest fish to date out of the kayak and had lots of action. used waders for the first time and was a little worried about falling in but it all worked out great. weather was sporadic and the wind was calm. great day.

i would guess it was in the 4-5 pound range and i was using a small olive wooly bugger. it was hooked on a relatively fast troll as i was trying to catch up with my friend. also hooked a few bluegills under a little dock, but could not find the bass. think i might have had a few on at the dam but could not bring them to the surface for positive id. do you catch many bass their?

It's better for bass at full pool when the water is warming in spring and early summer when all the docks and willows provide cover. That's good fish that probably survived the summer.I think fly fishing like you were doing or trolling without flashers gets more fish there because they see so much gear go by.I can't tell you how many 30 fish days iv had just flat lining a rapala.

Every time I've been out there it's insanely windy. Still, nice fish to be had in that lake.
