In case you havn't heard yet, Lowrance came out with the new Hook lineup of fishfinders.

Link is here: http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/HOOK/

I'm considering picking up a 5" for my new Outback, but wary since there are zero reviews out there.  Anyone have any insight?

I have no personal knowledge, but one of the Lowrance team members on the NCKA board said the Hook series is a re-branding of part of the Elite series, so the "Elite" name can be used exclusively with the models with a touchscreen interface.

Can anyone else confirm that?

I'm told the name is not being discontinued, but that the "Elite" name will only be used for the touchscreen units.
