I am new to the tricities/northwest, moved up here for work. I have done a lot of midwestern pond fishing, and will be buying a kayak to fish and duck hunt out of. Fishing rivers, and the species here will be new to me. I will probably lurk for a little while and start asking questions when my desired equipment list gets narrowed down.

Welcome, There's lots of kayak fishing opportunities in close proximity to the Tri Cities. Good luck with your search for a kayak.  This site has great information.  I live across the river from you.  When you get your yak maybe I'll see you out there on the water!

There is a good chance you will see me out there. I am planning to buy this spring and fish this spring/summer as time allows. Do you go on the Columbia a lot, or do you prefer the smaller rivers/lakes?

I fish the Columbia a lot in the fall for salmon.  I also fish the Snake and Yakima occasionally.  They all can have good fishing, you just have to deal with the current.
