Sorry Aaron for feeding you to the wolves here.  I really thought some of our members might be interested in more tournament opportunities.     We pretty much ignore the bass anglers on this forum with our obsession over salt water and salmon.

Here's how I thought this would go down...

Aaron would tell us about the new series of bass fishing tournaments he's setting up and some of us would participate in that.   Some of his members would in turn come to NWKA to expand their kayak fishing horizons beyond bass or to find good rigging and safety advice.

What I should have told him was... please join NWKA. However, don't mention the bass fishing tournament series you are eager to set up until you've posted at least X number of times to gain cred.

Setting up tournaments in the area seemed like a contribution to the community to me.    In hind sight, I should have introduced the topic first and then invited Aaron to join the forum.

Thanks for stepping in Brian.

I don't think this is a bad idea, I just felt the approach was a bit awkward. But these are just my thoughts.

I think it's good he posted here. I wouldn't have known about it if not and the more tournaments we have the better. Bass fishing I can see being a good entry level section to new kayak fishermen as well that don't want to jump straight into ocean or salmon but want to participate in events and get togethers. Also any kayak can pretty much work which isn't the case for ocean etc. I get the vibe he's wanting us to help him decide how to get this rolling and get participation. My .02 cents.
