What weight are folks using for halibut? Just thinking of picking up a few.

14oz was all they had at the Soldotna Sportsman's when I went looking for one. If they make them in 8-10oz I would try one of those.

Bouncing that 14oz boat anchor up and down gets tiring after a while.

Yea, was looking at their sizes and wasn't keen on the 14oz one.

I have an assortment from 6 to 14 ounces. I choose the weight based on current and depth I want to fish. Anything deeper than 100' I default to the 14 simply because I am impatient and it allows less scope in the line as it drops.
