I'm going to give it a try with Shannon Saturday if the weather isn't too crazy.  I need to get out on the salt again and hopefully bring home some fish for dinner.

Smokeyangler- Did you find your new outback?
The two best times to fish is when it’s raining and when it ain’t. -Patrick McManus

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

What is the difference in the 2016 ?

And did they discount the NOS ?

I believe the only changes on the 2016 are the thru lull plug location and it"s a 3 way plug now.  I think they now have bigger pad eyes.  Those are the only ones that I know of.  They did discount the 2015.

An unidentified Smokeyangler and my self launched at an undisclosed location behind the old fish house at an undetermined time of around roughly 0821 sharp.... After clearing the coastguard station and seeing rollers breaking on the beach at the end of the south jetty we decided it might be a good idea to leave Smokeyangler's crab trap inside the channel's green marker ( just after the old coastguard house) and had a sporty ride out with a few waves trying to break over the bow. Fished a fast outbound tide for about an hour then bam Smokeyangler's pole bends over with a nice little greenling followed by a 13 inch black rock, then I got a little action from a 14 inch black rock that I played on light drag for a couple runs. All together we had a blast but had to cut it short as the wind was starting to pick up. No on the water pictures it was a little tough trying to fumble with the phone the rudder and pole with a nice set of waves so we got after pics  of the 2 blacks that We got the greenling picture didn't save (weird) no crabs of keeper size and with wind waves  breaking over the bow on the return peddle, damn glad I took the wife's Native and not the aircraft carrier or I would have had some tired arms. Next weekends weather looks good just need to check the tides.

My neighbor went to Waldport yesterday, using a powerboat, said that the crabs were mostly small as well and was not happy with the outcome.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

My neighbor has been PB pulling them from the bay and the keepers have been full and heavy. But we were mostly looking to do a shake down my wife's Mariner from winter storage and smokeys new 15 outback. Looked at the tides for next weekend and they suck for bay fishing.

Looking ahead for good tides for Tillamook bay I will recommend the following Friday through Monday dates if anyone is interested but keep in mind this is only tides not weather and that can put a huge hamper on bay fishing.
February  26-29
March      11-14
March      25-28
Anyone interested in mid week ideas let me know.

Can't plan the weather but I can post up the tides that look good. I'll update it again next month. If anyone wants company and I'm available I'll go out shoot me a pm or post up an open invitation here.
Have fun stay safe
