Hey all,

So I have been lurking around for a week or so and decided to sign up, I have been yak fishing for 5 years. Mostly lake fishing for bass and trout with a little bit of river fishing for striped bass back east in Nova Scotia. Since my posting(Navy) to Van Island two years ago i have been pondering with the idea of hitting the salt but haven't made the leap as of yet. I am still paddling my first yak, an Emotion Mojo angler which has served me well in my pursuit of bass, but i am not 100% convinced it can handle the chuck. Well that’s my little into; I look forward to meeting all over the next while.

Hi Mick, welcome to the site! This is a great place for any kayak anglers to get their questions answered by some experts. I would definitely recommend having a dry suit and a partner when fishing the salt. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome Ravensfan. I have been doing some reading and sucking up as much knowledge as i possibly can here on the forum, I am grateful that there is such a good resource like this in the northwest. Thanks to all the contributors !! So to further my intro along i will post up some photo's of some of my fishing exploits over the years.  **WARNING** Some of these photo's were not taken in the vicinity of a Kayak  >:( But i really wish i had lil mustard(wife named her) with me !!

Junk Jig anyone ?? Here is what is caught !

Kuwait city, Sea bream

A quick second look. And back into the water she went.

Djibouti,Djibouti Trevally
Again quick photo and back over the side.

Praslin, Seychelles
Caught a quick two dozen of these guys on a 6wt after burning 5 of my 6 hours trying for Milk fish  :'(

I never wanted to leave. . . . . . Still by far the best guided experience I've had.

Where the addiction all started, hunting Atlantic salmon back east. I miss that tug  :'(

Okay so all of those ended up being non-kayak related oops, till next time.
