Saw the ocean conditions for Wednesday and had to get back in the salt after quite a few springer trips and nothing to show for it. My buddy Robert has been wanting to get in the salt for awhile so I hit him up and figured this would be a good chance for him to get out and experience it for himself. Plus he wants to fish ORC this year so i thought it would be good to familiarize him with the area. We showed up at sunrise stoked because we knew it was going to be a good day. Met another kayaker that happened to be going out too. I filled Robert on my initial ocean trips of me getting seasick and offered him some Dramamine and ginger chews but he said hes been in big swells before so he'll be fine. Finally we launched and headed through the hole! I decided to start close to see how the bite was before going to government point and was immediately nailing some good size blacks. I was trying to teach Robert how to read bottom structure and give him as much info as possible and before you know it, hes on fish! The fishing was pretty hot so we only ventured to in front of the hotels. As I'm fishing Robert comes near me and says "I might need that Dramamine". LOL!!! so I give him some but unfortunately it was too late. Minutes later he pukes them right up. I ask him if he wanted to go in but he said  hes fine so we stayed out. At this point I was trying to get my limit as fast as possible after throwing back a few legal but smaller lings hoping to find a big one. I turn to see how Roberts doing and he's puking, but still has his rod in his hand catching fish. lol After about 3hrs on the water I got my limit and he managed to get 2 lings and 3 blacks. All in all he was a trooper and caught fish at the same time. I got a feeling next time he'll take the dramamine or something. Lol.

Nice report!  Usually catching fish is the antidote for sea sickness, but I'm guessing Robert will be a fan of some other form of preventive measure.   Great job, guys!!
