New Member from Eastern Oregon

Hi everyone.  I just joined.  I have an older model Ascend FS12T that I have been enjoying for the past several years on relatively safe water (lakes, reservoirs, sloughs, etc.).  I’m looking forward to the discussions and learning from all of you.  Hopefully I have an opportunity to participate in upcoming events and meet some of you.  Or have an opportunity to hook up (no pun intended;)) and fish together somewhere.

Welcome!! You should definitely check out the Brownlee Crappie Shootout coming up in a few weeks, it doesn't look it's too far away from you. Would be a good way to meet some of the guys and there's some really awesome prizes as well!

Thanks Matt. Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of town that weekend.  I'm really disappointed. I was crappie fishing last weekend when one on the organizers saw me kayaking and boated over.  That's how I got connected to this forum and I was hoping to participate in the event.  I'll definitely be watching the calendar for my next opportunity.  This group gets me excited about getting on the water.

Welcome Boquist, it was nice meeting you on Sunday. Fishing is heating up on Brownlee. There is some good bass fishing not too far from Cove also. Nice to see another Eastern Oregon guy show up on here.-jed

Thanks Jed for connecting me to this forum.  I may be out again this Sunday, although the forecasted wind may cause me to consider different water.  Phillips Res was just stocked with trophy trout, some tagged with a $40 winning ticket.  We'll see if the wind influences my crappie plans and steers me towards trout angling.  Hopefully I'll see you on the water again.

That is great news about Phillips, I hope they can fix that place. Trophy trout will definitely be in my future plans. I will be hitting Brownlee for tourney intel till the event but let me know when you plan on going and maybe we can meet up. I'll send you a pm with my info.-jed

Welcome to the board.  You might see me around as well.  I'm actually hitting Brownlee Res tomorrow afternoon with a friend (power boat this time) and will post any new intel.
