not sure if going to 65 # spectra will buy me a real improvement on drag reduction......

Not knowing the exact diameter of the lines in questions, and just going by the ratio of the breaking strength being proportionate to the ratio of the cross-sectional area (which is a function radius), 65# spectra would be around 60% the diameter of 175#.  That is ... if I did my math right.

I've never lost a rigger ball using 65# spectra.  I do retie the bottom 1-2 feet if I notice any chaffing.
