He did awesome!  He'll turn 15 in July, and he's already addicted with just two trips under his belt.  He never whined of being cold, sick, scared, bored, etc..  He stuck a lot of lures to the bottom like you are supposed to, and only lost one in two days.  Being lighter than me, he can kick my butt covering water, even after 8 hours on the water.

This is about to get expensive for me real quick, as he just used John's old suit this trip, that I patched up 40+ holes on Thursday before going. He'll be seeing a Kokatat for sure, as they've been good to me.

Had a blast landed and unhooked quite a few seabass and 3 underlings I took home two good sized seabass and gifted them to lil_cowboy whom is camping here but couldn't do the ocean as his wife isn't prepared for salt yet. Took TLW's boat and christened it right proper with a roll in 3 ft of water after the nose curled into the base of the wave.  Cosmo got it on GoPro so I'm waiting for him to send me a copy. Definitely love using the leg instead of the arms for propulsion. I'll let the others post up there triumphs and what not.

Yup....... you have created a monster. Good for "Spawn of Insayn" ... bad for dad's pocket. But it will be worth it. The memories will be priceless. for both of you. Make it happen.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Little Cos and I had an amazing adventure on Sunday at PC.  We met up with Shannon and Rudy on the beach and several others out on the water.  We dropped a crab pot and headed out for deeper water around the buoy.  Little Cos is a fishing machine.  He immediately got into the black rocks, pulling a triple on his first hook up.  We were both using light action Shimano Trevala jigging rods that are truly awesome!  Love the action on these rods.

Little Cos then proceeds to muscle in his two largest Lings to date, as I predicted he would.  It was then catch up time for me and I found the blacks and lings as well.  In all, I think we caught at least 10 lings between us, and at least 20-30 black rocks.

About half way through, Little Cos got seasick and was battling that the rest of the trip, but it only slowed him down a bit so I could catch up.

Here are a few pics from our day.  I especially like the one of me with a double hook up and Little Cos about to hurl over the side of his kayak!  Can't wait for the video.  Might have to blow this one up and put it on the wall.

Rudy and Shannon, Thanks for fishing with us.

Thankyou everyone! You all made my first ocean trip a success, including “lending” me the right lures.  Limited out on Black Rockfish which turned into excellent fish curry by roommate.  I did fall off my Tupperware bowl, as Shannon would say, and he kindly helped me back in (NOT paying attention, leaning to the right, ocean rolled right and much to my surprise I went overboard).  My launch and beaching both went well although there were rumors that as I followed Shannon in, he said to film my first beaching so we could all get a laugh (which is how his christening got captured).  He was right, we all got a laugh. When can we go again?
