So i was down in Portland and thought i should take advantage of the no sales tax...so i looked up some kayak dealers and ended up at Next Adventure...looked at some yaks on monday and demoed some on thursday...now i have in my living room a 2008 Hobie revolution fish :)
so now all i need is a pfd and i am gonna be on the water...no fishing license yet but i need to get into shape anyways....

only problem it is about 3 inches to long for the longest run in my house so i can't put it against the wall lol....probably gonna make a hoist system of some sort on the porch and lock it to a post though

so whos going yaking this weekend?

so i will be on at least the lake this weekend i guess...i don't know how warm lake Washington is but if its too cold i will go to union lake....

ya wonderingrichard i know lol...i was looking at the tridents too...but i just kept thinking to myself i will never be able to pedal those...ever...lol
i can always pull the drive or fold them flat and paddle :)

only problem i see with the revo is the lack of mounting space for goodies but everyone else that has one or a similar boat has managed so i am sure i can too...looking at ram tubes or the revolution tube weird thing

trying to debate if its worth putting a rod holder on each side or a rod holder on one side and the ff mount on the other...i mean you can't really use more than one rod here anyways can you?

lol, yep, pedal, paddle or sail, woo hoo!!

Can only fish one pole, but i usually take two. One for jigging and one for bait, or just in case i do something dumb and break one. That's why a take two, cause i broke one on the bay and only had one pole so that ended my day early. I have a milk crate with pvc tubes to hold the poles while traveling.

first upgrade you should do is get the turbo fins, They are just plain awesome!

Are the molded in pole holders behind the seat? the ones on the outback are at a funky angle. No cup holders either huh? I use those on the outback to hold my custom FF/pole holder.
See ya on the water..

no i have a cup holder on the right side i believe...and ya the rod holders are behind the seat...i figured they would be awkward

and i was gonna wait a few months to get the turbo fins because i need to get in shape first lol

are the ram rod holder mounts and fish finder mounts using the same size base mount ball? cause if they did that would be sweet lol

Congrats on the yak; we'll see you on the water one of these days. Did you ever get waders? A dry top is not that expensive for an addition.

I got a Scotty rodholder with an extension "pole", it holds the rod out of the wy of the pedals.  Ignore the weird rod, I usually use an 8 foot Lamiglas.

Ram makes an adapter that fits in your mast hole, you can mount just about any fishinder there.

This is my Revo with a homemade mount in the mast hole, before I found the Ram gizmo at Outdoor Emporium. That big tank is the stock Hobie livewell.  Have not found it useful, but probably will next summer when (if??) the king run comes in.

no not yet i went out today to rei and joes to look for a pfd and waders...i liked the waders there but they didn't have the size of pfd i wanted so i just didn't bother at joes...and the rei i went to doesn't have any paddle gear lol...i need waders and i was gonna try to get away with my goretex jacket for a few weeks before i buy a dry top...as for pfd i think i want the stohlquist fisherman but they only had small/medium and it fits me but only with the straps at full potential so i wanna get the next size up watever that is...any gripes about that vest?  anybody know where i can go to get one?

i also need a paddle leash at least...until i get some other stuff

i just wanna get on the water for now im not that worried about fishing yet lol...don't have a fishing license and not in good enough shape to be trolling for any period of time so....

i also need a cart i guess...whats the best option here? i mean i know you can only get them from hobie but is it worth trying to build your own?

i think i am gonna stick with either ram tube or revolution ratcheting deal because i looked up the ball sizes and you can pretty much interchange any rod holder onto the ball...im sure you can do this with scotty also but i just like ram better i think lol....its gonna be awhile before i deck out the yak anyways i think...i just wanna get on the water for now

i shoulda bought most of this stuff at next adventure but i was thinking about it...stuff seems to be hard to find here but maybe i just don't know where to go

Congrats on the kayak.  Does this mean you can make it down to the NWKA tournament in Pacific City now?

could i come down on friday night and leave sunday morning...is that wat everyone else is doing?

i could always sleep in the truck if i had too lol...but i am sure i could come up with a sleeping bag if somebody had some spare room in a tent :)
