Greetings.  New member here.  I'm interested in learning more about open water kayak fishing.  I've fished my whole life in lakes in the mid west,basic stuff nothing too intense.

I recently bought a house on Lake Goodwin, bought a couple of Kayaks and have done some fishing.   I'd love to get out on the sound or even up to the mountains for some new scenery.

I do have one question that someone might be able to help with.   Am I allowed to fish with two lines from two poles at the same time? If I'm trolling it seems like I could double my chances...just do know if it's legal.

In order to fish with two poles you will need to get a two pole endorsement added onto your current fishing license, but you'll soon find out that it's not good everywhere. Without knowing all the exact regulations for Washington I can't say exactly where you can use two poles, but generally speaking it's in almost all lakes, but not in most rivers or the ocean. Check your regulations and prepare to be confused, then before going fishing check your regulations again because they probably changed yesterday.

Hello and welcome. I'm also just really getting started here and am from a different region of the country, trying to learn the ropes fishing here. What Matt said is right, generally the two-pole is for lakes, and only specific ones.

Feel free to hit me up if you plan on heading out. I'm going to kayak out of Golden Gardens for bottom fish either tomorrow or the day after, depending on weather.
