Shark bites kayaker's paddle in Florida

Ok my take on this is that carbon fiber paddle probably resembles fish scales enough that I sure ain't going to use one in the water. Someone want to test that for us with some fish printed glitter stickers on their paddle Not it 

I thought fish-glitter stick-ons were recommended for the possibility of a night rescue?  Read that somewhere...   

I noticed he didn't really panic until the shark tried for the other blade.  Had it been me, I wouldn't need my morning coffee for at lest a month.

 

The act of paddling alone is enough to make aggressive warm water sharks curious enough to taste. In FL you can just knock on the gunwales of a boat to attract them.

Hence the reason why I don't live in Florida...

From my experience, I've had more scary incidents with the barracudas. ^_^

And folks wonder if the flapping Mirage fins attract sharks.  Hmmm.

My Florida scuba shark encounters were mostly Nurse sharks, except for that one Lemon shark -- kinda like the one chomping on this dude's paddle.

The Barracudas are much worse on the Gulf side.
