If any of you live near an Oregon Sportsmans, or Fishermans Marine and Outdoors, I got a quest for ya if you will.  If you're going there anytime this week, could you do a price check for me?

I'm looking to pick up a pair of Scotty 444 Threaded Deck Mounts, a Rodmaster II Rod Holder, and a 259 Rod Holder Height Extender.

I want to do something like "KzReelRods" from NCKA.com did, as it would put my rod in the right place for trolling (and still be able to see my Cuda screen), rather than behind me where I can't see bites on the tip.

I'd like to know if it's worth driving from the West side of Forest Grove to Portland and back for these (provided they have these parts) or if online shopping + shipping would be the best option for me.

Thanks!

Those aren't the threaded deck mounts.  That looks like the Round 344.

Also, you may want to check the 459 Adjustable Rod Holder extension instead of the 259.  With it's extra pivot point, it can be a little more flexible.

Deeez ones.

You can see he has them installed between the sonar shield and the rod pod.

INSAYN,

http://www.kayakfishinggear.com has all the Scotty goodies. They ship real fast, usually a couple of days.

Ah yes, I see.  That's an interesting place to put those mounts.  I might have to try that one myself!!!

I'd also have to plug Hook1 at kayakfishinggear.com. Products are shipped and delivered within 3 days max.

I have this exact set-up, however it has some shortcomings. It will get your rod closer to you but the entire unit is rigid, there is no way to angle your rod holder on the end of the extension for proper trolling. If you turn the entire unit in the scotty deck mount to get a better angle then the extension is actually moving away from you. Scotty needs to put in some kind of 90 degree adjustment on its rod holders to amend this problem. Hope this makes some kind of sense...Hook1, very fast sevice!
