Introducing a friend to yak fishing tomorrow at Coffenbury Lake 10-11:00 am. Oregon Fish and Wildlife said Trophy trout will be released this week at the following lakes: Cape Meares (300), Coffenbury (500), Lost/Clatsop Co. (300), Sunset (150), and Town (300).  Thought we would give Coffenbury a try.

Do any good? I work in astoria a lot and have thought about fishing Coffenbury. I fished Cullaby a couple months ago and caught a few bass.

We caught lots of weeds! And one perch.  People were catching some fish with bait, both from shore and anchored but we were not set up for that.

Coffenbury is best fished in the spring, Apr - June. After July 4th W/E the level of the lake start to drop, and the weeds get thick.  The lake is completely dependent on rainfall, so can get shallow in the early fall before the rains show up.  There is one really good hole in Coffenbury, if you know where that is, you can actually catch some fairly decent trout.
