I caught this nice 16 inch rainbow on lake Goodwin yesterday. Let another similar size fish go, and lost one at the surface. Most of the fish I tracked were on the west side of the lake in the bottom 10 feet or so.

Nice fish! What was the lure of the day? word of caution though with clip stringers.i have had them pop open with larger trout when they roll around.dont learn the hard way.

Eagle Claw makes a beefy 10-clip stringer with clips which slide on a cable.  Each clip has a locking clip which you have to slide up in order to open the clip, so the stringer is more secure than the typical clip stringer.

Good advice, I've always been nervous of that happening! I caught both fish on a watermelon flasher and large green and red doc spratley fly with an 8 inch leader.   I used my down rigger, and trolled 25-30 feet down in 35 or so feet of water.
