Shout out to all the West Coast Canadians living in the Vancouver Island area. I’ve enjoyed reading about your fishing excursions for years and now I have opportunity to visit the island the second week of May. I’d be great to meetup with some of you Northern guys so send me a PM if you’d around to chase some tail in the salt. Tentatively, I will be in Victoria for a few days before staying in Tofino for the week around May 12th. Researching your fishing regulations & I see they can be quite variable.  I’ll be staying on Cox Bay & hope to get at least one day of good weather and calm seas...eh.

Welcome Hugh! There should be some springs to catch by May and halibut will be open by then. I live in the Victoria area so keep in touch and we'll wet a line together. The currents for halibut would be better a little later in the month but hopefully there'll be some salmon around.
