Well, I'm a lifelong power boater just getting into the whole kayak thing.  Grew up fishing the Columbia mostly from the CR Buoy to the St. Helens area.  Still live close to the river and spend a lot of time out there.  Last spring I picked up an old town K140 predator off Craigslist with the idea of doing a little fishing and maybe some duck hunting.  Shortly after we grabbed a WS Aspire for my son.  Got them both pretty cheap but it was still a hard sell to the wife.  She didn't understand why our existing four boats weren't enough...  anyway, nine months later and some good protected water fishing trips and a couple CR duck hunts and I find myself eyeing the bigger water out there.  After spending some time in the kayaks I am really seeing the limitations of our boats.  Poked around on the forums and figured this was a good place to come for some advice.  You guys seemed like you could help a guy spend some money in a hurry.   :)  more to come but that's the short version of what brings me to the forum.  Thanks in advance and although I don't know too much about kayaking yet I do know a little about catching CR salmon so maybe I can repay the debt down the road.
