Wonder if you hooked some halibut, or some sharks, rather than lings.  Not to say lings big enough to smoke like and break off 25lb mono aren't out there, but there's not many in the Sound.

That said, sounds like a great day on the water!  Congrats!

HOGS.. 25 LB line broke off three times.

@Filthyoar, Nice job!  You do know there's an underwater dive park up there, right? (lol).

Pretty nice to have that much action in that close.  Pretty frustrating for me to be tied up for several weeks while reading your reports, but it's for good reason with family so not that bad.

@ Showa and others, this link is really helpful in looking for launch sites.  Edmonds has a nice area and there are two launch docks and you can usually get protected launch on one side or the other and you don't interfere with with other boat launches on the sides, so it works out well.

Yeah i hooked them outside of the park. Very south end of the park. Figured if they are in it ,then they are around it. I stayed 100 feet away from thr furthest structure. So i wouldn't get a ticket..

A few years ago a fisherman hooked a diver in there.  Don't remember who was at fault, but I'm guessing there was a lot of screaming if he pulled out a flying gaff, :-)))))

@THEFILTHYOAR

Is there any easy way to make sure that you are not in the park? -clearly identifiable landmarks? I don't have a fish-finder hooked up and have not fished that exact area before....

I look forward to getting out there and trying my luck for some lings!

@Filthy, I checked with the park management at the dive park.  There clear marks around the dive park but no clear marks 100 feet out.  They struggled a bit to confirm it was 100 feet, but I'm sure it is.  So it you're vertical jigging,  I'd stay one good cast distance away from the park markers.  The dive park has underwater paths the the divers follow.  If you are casting, just make sure your cast point are 100 feet out as well.  I'm trying Cassidy with a new guy Saturday but if the weather is good might run that direction early Sunday.
Obviously be careful of the ferry prop wash and they get really excited if you get too close, like coast guard loaded 50 cal zodiac gun boat excited. They are fun to watch come in hot as long as they aren't pointed at you, lol. If not Sunday then next week for fairly sure.  Kids have left on their camping move toward PA.
