After my non-standard beach landing Thursday, it looks like my Mirage drive masts are slightly bent.  A while back someone posted that they had successfully bent their masts back several times before they gave way.
I was going to attempt to bend the masts back, but also thought it would be a good idea to have some spares handy.

Is there a "best way" to bend the masts (heat, vice, etc)?  And are there some other parts for the 2015 drive w/ turbo fins that I might want to order - to have on hand?

I have used many methods. The crotch of a tree while duck hunting, but a vice is the easiest.Just bend them back. My original mirage drive has had the masts bent back and forth so many times, I can't count.  It has been going strong since 2011.  That being said, when I go way off shore, I use a newer drive from my Revo.  I would hate to paddle back from 4 miles out.  The older drive is used for lakes and rivers now. Especially shallow rocky rivers where the chance of hitting rocks is great.  Also, it never hurts to have spares. 

At one time, I figured out what thread was on the masts and I was going to buy some stainless rod and make my own.  Another project I have never got around to doing.

Mojo did improvised repair work in Crab Cove after I hit one of the pigs or maybe the Sow. He used a vise grips and a piece of pipe for leverage. Was probably 15deg worth of bend that he took out. Still working, but now I have a spare mast and fin, a HFT vise grip tool, and a 18" piece of 1/2" pipe in the repair kit under the front hatch.

I discovered the hitch pin hole on a trailer is the perfect size for a Hobie mast, bends it back perfectly every time.
