I have a buddy coming to visit from July 28 through August 2 and I'm looking to get him into some Oregon fish. He's a pretty big dude with no kayak history, so kayak fishing will be out of question.

As I'm still rounding out my first year up here, I don't know what species is most attainable around that time. If you had a friend coming to visit and wanted to put him on fish, what would you target? Anyone have any experience with a guide service up here?

I'm in Beaverton and happy to go 2+ hours for a sure shot at something fun. Thanks in advance for any knowledge you guys can drop on me!

I always took the kids to Sauvie Island for sturgeon around then but with the Gilbert River being closed that's out of the question.  You can try floating eggs or casting spinners at Memalose point on the Tillamook Bay (double check the regs for that time).  If your not dead set on fish you can go to Netarts and cast Crab Hawks.  That's always non-stop fun.

So how big is big? I'm 245-250 on average and have a Jackson big tina that don't get out much, if there's an early morning low tide say 10am-ish and it's not windy as hell the bay is easily fishable. If I'm available I'll take you guys out.
