Aaron says his problems got worse after he left the military.

"My brain had a lot of time to think about stuff," Aaron says. "My circles got smaller and smaller."

That's why it's important for people to understand PTSD, you don't just have to get shot at or watch a brother die to have it. Sometimes its the lack of purpose in life when you get out. I'm lucky that I was a Submarine mechanic so my job translated to the real world (Which is why I'm a volunteer not a participant  ). But a lot of suicides and major issues come from having seen combat, but can also come from not seeing it. Hell I saw a shipmate slit his wrists in the shower just because he hadn't seen the sun in 2 months. What we're doing is amazing and I'm glad to have become a part of the team. If I didn't have fishing I don't know what I would do lol. We need to share the joy of it with as many vets as we can.
