Baker Lake fishing was a lot of fun. The fishing was very slow and most people went home without any fish. Most boats were on the water by 0500 and done by 10 or 11. By noon no boats were on the water. Only a few boats went out in the evenings since the wind picked up and the water was a bit rough.

I got lucky with catching a 21" Sockeye, it pulled my kayak around a bit. On 8-12 I did get one up to the kayak and it got off the hooks, what a bummer.

I'll be heading back to the lake on the 20th.

Very cool! I was only able to manage some nice pictures and a good swim on my trip up there but nice to see it pay off for another kayaker for sure. Hopefully next years run is a little better than this year's so far.
Congrats!
They might sound ill advised, but when I tell folks of my exploits, it's rare I don't find them smiling
