I'm pretty active on the NCKA forum. In the past, I've gotten some great info from NWKA members, so I thought I'd join this awesome group.

A little about my favorite topic... myself. I mostly fish saltwater, usually in the Monterey Bay. Last year, I got a used Hobie AI and this year added a trailer, but for several years before that I fished exclusively from my Adventure (aka Revo 16). As far as fishing skills go, I'm average (at best). If I land 1 marquee fish per year, I'm happy---last year I got a plus-sized (California) halibut, and this year I had my chance when I hooked into a good-sized thresher shark, but it broke off. Other than that, I mostly catch the usual stuff (rockfish and lingcod) and the occasional halibut. I have caught salmon in the past, but have not even made a serious attempt for them in a couple of years (now that I think about it, I'm not sure why...). This year, I fished for kokanee for the first time (actually, my first time fishing in freshwater in 3 years) and liked it a lot, so may do more of that in the future.

I also constantly tinker with my kayak, always trying something different. My latest project is a furling spinnaker for my AI, which I think I've nearly got perfected.

Welcome! Sounds like some fun fishing you do. If you want to post a thread on your efforts with the sail(s) I know there are folks around who would appreciate it, myself included.

NowhereMan?  Cool.  I read darned near all of your posts on NCKA - even the ones about how California's regulations work.

Nice to have you around NWKA.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
